Hand painted murals for both residential and business spaces
Hello! I'm Janice Casper, the founder and solo artist behind Walls of Wonder Murals. Since 2001, I’ve been transforming spaces with custom, hand-painted murals for both residential and commercial clients. My goal has always been to bring beauty, creativity, and personality to every wall I touch.
I hold an Associate Degree in Visual Communication from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh (Class of 1986). After graduating, I moved to the shore and began my career at AT&T Bell Laboratories’ Art & Media Design Studio, where I supported the R&D community with visual materials for meetings and product launches. In 1995, I joined the graphic design team at Lucent Technologies, focusing on early multimedia, television network graphics, and global corporate communications.
In 2000, after experiencing a wave of corporate downsizing, I took a leap of faith and turned my passion into a full-time venture. Walls of Wonder was born from a desire to blend my fine art training and graphic design background into something more personal and hands-on. Today, I specialize in creating highly detailed, one-of-a-kind murals that reflect each client’s vision—with a strong emphasis on quality, craftsmanship, and personalized service.
When I’m not painting, I enjoy spending time with my husband of 35 years, Michael, and our three amazing children. I love to cook, travel, and find inspiration wherever I go.
Start by filling out a quick form or texting/calling me. We'll chat about your ideas and inspiration.
I’ll need a few basics: contact info, mural theme, size, location, timeframe, and budget.
If you know exactly what you want, I’ll email an estimate. Need help deciding? I’ll visit the space, show you my complete portfolio, take photos, and offer creative suggestions.
You’ll receive a Photoshop mockup with notes on color and placement—easy to tweak before painting begins. I’ll also send an updated estimate based on scope and detail.
Once you're happy with the design and quote, a 20% deposit (on larger jobs) secures your mural date.
I sketch directly on the walls, then bring your vision to life using high-quality latex and acrylic paints. Murals in high-traffic areas are sealed with acrylic polyurethane.
Once the mural is complete, final payment is due. I’ll make sure everything is just right.
Your satisfaction is guaranteed—now enjoy your one-of-a-kind artwork!
This friendly cub is a detail from a hallway mural which takes learners on a playful journey alongside a cheerful panda, tiger, elephant, and koala—all walking to class with students. Designed to support early childhood education, the mural introduces foundational concepts such as colors, shapes, counting to five, the ABCs, and key sight words. Bright, engaging visuals capture children’s attention while reinforcing learning through art and storytelling. This joyful scene transforms an ordinary hallway into an imaginative, interactive learning space where curiosity and creativity thrive.
This eye-catching ABC mural is designed with young learners in mind, featuring bold colors, adorable baby animals, and kid favorites like ice cream and unicorns to help reinforce early letter recognition. Measuring approximately 4 feet square, the mural is prominently located in a high-traffic area just outside the cafeteria, making it a daily visual treat for students. Finished with a durable acrylic polyurethane coating, the mural is protected for long-lasting color and easy cleaning—making it both beautiful and practical for a busy school environment.
Located at the entrances to the center atrium playground, the Four Seasons mural series transforms the space into a vibrant journey through the changing year. Each of the four mural walls features a beautifully illustrated tree evolving with the season—blooming in spring, full and green in summer, rich with autumn colors, and quiet in winter’s stillness. Seasonal birds and flowers add life and detail. Together, these murals create a dynamic blend of art, nature, and learning—welcoming children into a space filled with wonder and discovery.
As part of a trio of math murals across the school, the Robot Twins bring essential math concepts to life in a fun and engaging way. This featured mural showcases two friendly robot characters with databases filled with key addition and subtraction terms, designed to help students recall important math vocabulary during problem-solving. Alongside the Base-10 Block mural and the Number Line Leapfrog mural with lily pad stepping stones, this creative installation supports foundational math skills and key site words that spark curiosity and make math both visual and memorable.
This vibrant mural features a detailed world map showcasing all seven continents and five oceans. At its heart, the mural celebrates the beauty of global diversity and the importance of embracing different cultures within our community. Inspired by the children's book “Around the World We Go” by Margaret Wise Brown, the artwork highlights the universal joy of children playing together. Through bold visuals and thoughtful design, the mural encourages understanding, respect, and connection across cultures, reminding viewers that we all share one world.
This vibrant, 5-foot-wide rainbow mural is a joyful celebration of early literacy, featuring all of the high-frequency words that young learners are encouraged to recognize by sight. Designed to help build reading fluency, the mural presents these essential words in a colorful, engaging format that students pass by daily. Located in a high-visibility area directly across from the cafeteria, it combines durable latex paint with crisp, permanent vinyl lettering for a bold and lasting finish.
