Bethany Pediatrics Doctor’s Offices Mural Project

In 2010 I was blessed, once again, to have steady work in this tough economy. My largest project of that year was Bethany Pediatrics in Hazlet, New Jersey.

Bethany was my seventh Meridian Healthcare project. This office was in desperate need of a cheery, kid-friendly makeover when I arrived in February.

This project consisted of painting murals in the waiting room, bathroom, and 12 exam rooms. Each exam room had a mural panel above exam table and another piece on a side wall. The waiting room was transformed into a beach with 3 children flying kites on a boardwalk. The kite theme continued down the 2 hallways to add color and interest. Under the Sea was the theme for the bathroom with colorful fish, a sea turtle and mermaid riding a dolphin. The doctors decided on a different theme for each exam room. The Tropical Rainforest Room was my favorite to paint and the Patriotic Room and Circus Rooms were the most challenging. I really enjoyed meeting the children and hearing all of their comments as the rooms became transformed from week to week.

I want to thank the staff at Bethany for their kind words and support and for giving me the artistic freedom to have fun and create an environment that makes going to the doctors an enjoyable experience!
